Valentine’s Day is almost here and what better way to celebrate the holiday of love than with a sweets-inspired charcuterie board!

Charcuterie boards are a fun way to entertain your guests or spoil that special someone right at home. We’ve created a step-by-step guide for you to make your own Valentine’s Day themed charcuterie board. When it comes to building a charcuterie board, part of the fun is picking all the items to go on it. Do you enjoy sweet or savory? Cheese or candy – both? Jams or spreads? The options are endless!

We’re going for a dessert inspired board because who doesn’t love some sweets on Valentine’s Day? Let’s get started!

Step One: Gather the supplies and ingredients you’d like to have on the board!

We are, of course, using one of our favorite charcuterie boards – our super-sized Del Mar Charcuterie Board.

For ingredients, we have salami, capicola, strawberries, raspberries, goat cheese, Brie, crackers, Sweethearts, sugar cookies, pink Pocky sticks, chocolate and Twizzlers. Feel free to customize the board to your taste and swap in any of your charcuterie favorites we may have missed!

Step Two: Add the large, more eye-catching items.

If you have a block of cheese, like Brie, situate it near a corner or the center of the board. This leaves more space to fill in smaller ingredients like crackers and fruit.

We placed the Brie in the corner of the board and the goat cheese towards the middle.

If you choose to have jams or spreads on your board, this is also a good time to place those on your board, as they may take up more space than other items.

Step Three: Add in meat and fruit.

Once you’ve laid out the main components of you board, you can begin to spread around fruits and meats. We added strawberries, raspberries, capicola, and salami. Fill these items in around the larger ingredients. This is where you can tailor the board to serving size.

Step Four: Sprinkle in the finishing touches

Well, it is Valentine’s Day, so we can’t forget to add some sweet treats into the mix. Sprinkle in candy and chocolates to bring together the Valentine’s theme, and cure that sweet tooth. This is a great time to fill in any open spaces on the board!

We decided to keep it simple, but you can load up on as many goodies as you want!

Don’t forget to add serving utensils like cheese knives! This makes serving a breeze.

This is just one way you can create on a Valentine’s inspired charcuterie board; we’d love to see your Valentine’s charcuterie boards! Tag us on Instagram and use #MyTotallyBamboo. We just might repost your photo!
